Send an e-mail to Lyris@lists.sla.org with the SUBSCRIBE command in the body of the message, eg. : Subscribe SLA-DSOL your-e-mail_address FirstName LastName
Subscribing via the Internet
Visit http://lists.sla.org and follow the prompts to subscribe to the DSOL list via the internet.
Switching format
Additionally, many of you have expressed interest in receiving the list in digest format. Once you have rejoined the list, you can choose between any of the following member types:
- Digest: Receive all of the daily messages in one e-mail
- MIME Digest: Receive all of the daily messages in one e-mail in MIME format; each message is received as an attachment to the email
- Index: Receive a daily index of the subject lines of the messages of the day; you can then request specific messages or view them with the web interface
- Nomail: Don’t receive list contributions to your e-mail address; you can view messages with the web interface (via lists.sla.org)
To change your member type to Digest, MIME Digest, Index or Nomail, send an email to lyris@lists.sla.org with the message:
set SLA-DSOL option (i.e. set SLA-DSOL MIME Digest)
Note:
Over the past several years the SLA Solo Librarians Division (DSOL) has discussed requiring division membership
in order to subscribe to the DSOL email list. Many subscribers oppose this and understandably so.
The “List” is a lifeline of professional contact to many professionally isolated solos and no one wants
to leave a colleague stranded.
However, at conference this year we agreed to begin sending monthly messages to the list
reminding list members of the benefits of SLA and DSOL membership and how to become a member.
We trust that when you have the means to become a member you will and we look forward to welcoming you when you do.
